Top 5ish Summer Songs So Far…
- “Waking Up in Vegas” / “Mannequin” - Katy Perry

When I first heard Katy Perry, I did not want to like her. I am not a fan of the “I Kissed a Girl” song but I decided to give her a chance and check out her other songs. I have come to the conclusion that they either released that song first because it will attract attention to her because it is “controversial” or because that song is, in my opinion, one of her worst (and it still is not bad) songs on her album and everyone else will be blown away at how good her other songs are. I watched her perform at SXSW on youtube and she was amazing. I am thinking about going to Warped Tour just to see her. Anyone want to go?
- “Love Love Love” - Tristan Prettyman

If you like Jack Johnson or Colbie Caillat or even Ani Difranco, then you will like Tristan Prettyman. She has the California mellow surfer sound. This song sounds like summer, the breeze and the water and the flowers. Listening to it puts a spring in your step. It is super catchy and you cannot help but smile when you hear it.
- “Don’t Wanna” / “Black Hole” - I Nine

Carmen, the lead singer, has an amazing range. She is a spit fire who fronts the pop southern alt rock band who produces beyond infectious melodies and lyrics.
- “Leavin’” - Jesse McCartney

Thanks to Candice and Bethany, this song is always in my head. I cannot get it out! G5, G5.
- “Pocketful of Sunshine” - Natasha Bedingfield

This song makes me feel empowered.
