I hope you never look back but you never forget, all the ones who love you in the place you left…

So I pretty much haven’t written in this journal since last summer.

Let’s see what’s been up since then:

“Waking Up in Vegas” by Katy Perry has just been released as her newest single.  It is being called the “song of the summer”.  It’s a summer too late.  That was my “song of the summer” LAST summer (see my very first post).

I’ll continue to do my “top 5s” like I started out with my top 5 songs of last summer and baby names.

This past year went by unbelievably fast.  I have one final on Thursday and then I have convocation and commencement a week after that.  I’m excited for convocation.  To be involved, you must have a 3.95 or higher.  Having a 3.981, I have one of the highest grade point averages in my graduating class.  When I met with the Dean he read over the speech he is going to give about me and it was really sweet.  He also read me the letters of recommendation Professor Moses and Professor Murphy wrote for me.  Professor Moses basically sent him the same letter she wrote for my transfer college recommendation.  When the Dean read me the letter Professor Murphy wrote about me I wanted to cry.  It was the sweetest letter ever.  It talked about how he enjoyed coming to class to see me and how I would make his job easier because I would help the rest of the class, especially those who sat near me or were in my lab and through that it would raise their grades.  I especially liked that he wrote he wishes he could clone me haha.  Such a scientist thing to say.  I want to get him something nice to give him at convocation seeing as though the entire faculty will be there.  His wife loves Twilight too, so I gave him a Twilight pin and a Team Edward pin to give to her.

My mom, grandma, Greg and his parents and Amanda H are going to come to convocation.  Man, I am going to miss Amanda H so much.  Who would’ve thought we would’ve become such good friends?  I’m so glad it happened.  She is the best other Amanda I’ve known, and I know a fair amount of Amandas.  I love at school we became known as “The Amandas”.

I’m really going to miss Pam and Jaime.  They helped me more than they will ever know.  Pam is like my mentor.  I want to be just like her when I grow up.  I really don’t think I could have handled this last year without her.

The awards banquet on Friday was so much fun.  We have all become such a family, I’m afraid I’m not going to find that again when I move on.  Matt, Steve, Amanda, Dan and I have been together since the beginning and it’s going to be hard not seeing them every day.

I’m upset that I didn’t hang out with Sam and Taylor more this year.  It’s sad that we waited until the last week of school to really hang out.  Taylor is going back to Wayland and Sam might be going to Indiana during the summer so I won’t be able to see them.  Hopefully they’ll be coming back to Rochester in the Fall so I can hang out with them then.

Amanda H., Sam and I had the best last day of school ever.  We took silly pictures on my macbook and crazy videos.  I edited the videos down to 5:15.  It is hilarious, but it might be the type of funny where you just had to be there to enjoy it.

In the Fall, I’ll be going to the University of Rochester.  For FREE.  No loans what-so-ever.  Yeah, it “pays” to have good grades haha.  Amanda H., Matt and Steve will be at University of Buffalo, hopefully they’ll come home a lot.  Amanda should because Dan will be at SUNY Geneseo.

Something I wrote a lot about in previous entries was Twilight.  I read all the books.  Amanda H. and I went to the midnight “Breaking Dawn” release party.  It was so much fun.  I totally made the best shirt there.  I’ll post a picture of it too.  The book was kind of disappointing.  The order of my favorites go: “Twilight”, “Eclipse”, “New Moon”, “Breaking Dawn”.  Amanda H., Dan, Sylvia, Sam and I went to the midnight showing of Twilight when it was released.  Robert Pattinson was the perfect Edward.  He reminded me a lot of Johnny Depp playing Edward Scissorhands.  I also really liked Alice.  She is my favorite character.  I pretty much enjoyed all the people they casted except Kristen Stewart as Bella (she is the same in every role), Nikki Reed as Rosalie (she is definitely not the most beautiful girl in the world, she still looked hispanic even with all the pale make up on and her ass was huge and distracting) and I didn’t really like any of the guys casted as Bella’s human high school friends.  I loved the girl casted as Jessica.  I saw the movie again with Greg, and his parents.  It was a good movie, kinda cheesy and emo, but good.  Edward was and always will be the perfect guy.  Amanda H. and I went to the midnight release party for the DVD.  That was fun too.  We came up with this new thing where you pretend you’re playing the harp when someone is harping on something… like when you play the world’s smallest violin.

This year I went to Nashville.  It was beautiful there.  The hotel was amazing!  I want to go there with Greg for Valentine’s Day or our anniversary.  The setting was better than St. Louis, but I had a lot more fun when we went to St. Louis last year.

Pauly Shore was our homecoming headliner.  He was not only stoned when he came, he was also drunk.  He put on an okay show.  Meiko, Cory Chisel and Lucas Carpenter played our end of the year show.  Meiko was really good, and surprisingly funny.  Cory Chisel sounds just like a folk Bruce Springsteen.  Lucas Carpenter is just the most talented person I know.  Mark my words, he will be famous.  I seriously do not know why he isn’t yet.  He is the most genuine, funny, talented… he’s the whole package.  I’ll post some of his stuff too.  World, watch out, because Lucas Carpenter and the Art Kids are going to explode.

Caroline Rhea is the Fall 09 homecoming headliner.  She was amazing when I saw her in St. Louis.  I’m really excited to see her again.  After all, we are best friends ;).

I never did see Taylor Swift last year.  I am going to see her on August 2nd at the Blue Cross Arena.  She is playing with Keith Urban.  Lucas told me how awesome Keith Urban is live so I’m a little more excited about seeing him play.  It still doesn’t compare with how excited I am to see Taylor Swift.

Oh, during the awards banquet slide show, Jaime put “I’m Only Me When I’m With You” by Taylor Swift.  It pretty much made my life.  Surprisingly, I only cried twice at the awards banquet.  Once when Matt was getting his award and then at the end when Amanda H. was leaving.  I need to hang out with her as much as possible this summer.

When I think of the past two years I think of these songs:

“Extraordinary” by Mandy Moore - my 2007 - 2008 theme song

“Change” and all things by Taylor Swift - Fall 08 semester & Obama winning the Presidency

“Around the World” and pretty much his entire Pixelated Path CD by Lucas Carpenter - Spring 09 semester

“Come On Get Higher” by Matt Nathanson - hanging out in the CASA office listening to this song on repeat and getting it stuck in Justin’s head

“My Wish” by Rascal Flatts - The last few weeks of the semester.  I’m making this my official “graduation” song
